1. Promoter
The Blackwood Chamber Business Excellence Awards are conducted by the Blackwood Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI).
2. Eligibility
Entry is open to businesses that:
- Operate within the Bridgetown–Greenbushes region and surrounding areas
- Are actively trading at the time of nomination
- Comply with all relevant laws and regulations
Not-for-profit organisations are eligible for the Community Impact Award.
The Chamber reserves the right to verify eligibility.
3. Awards Categories
Sector Awards (Public Vote)
- Tourism & Hospitality
- Trades & Construction (including Mining Contractors)
- Retail
- Services (including professional services such as accountants, lawyers, consultants)
- Creative Industries & Artisan
- Agribusiness & Value-Added Producer
- Community Impact Award – NFPs
4. Key Dates
- Launch Event & Voting Opens: 6 August 2026
- Voting Closes: 3 September 2026
- Finalists Announced: 24 September 2026
- Awards Night: 17 October 2026
The Chamber reserves the right to amend dates if required.
5. Entry & Voting Process
- The awards operate under a single-stage public voting model
- Businesses are nominated and voted for simultaneously
- Voting is conducted online via the official platform
Each participant may:
- Submit one vote per category per email address
- Vote across multiple categories
The Chamber reserves the right to audit, verify, or remove votes deemed fraudulent, duplicate, or manipulated.
6. Finalists
Finalists will be determined based on the number of valid votes received in each category.
The number of finalists per category is determined at the discretion of the Chamber.
7. Winners
Winners are determined by the highest number of valid votes in each category.
For Major Awards, the Chamber may undertake additional review or validation if required.
The Chamber's decision is final.
8. Chamber Membership
The Chamber may require finalists and/or winners to be financial members of BCCI to receive or retain awards.
Details will be communicated directly to finalists.
9. Prizes
Prizes may include:
- Trophy and certificate
- Marketing and promotional exposure
- Sponsored or financial prize components
- Media coverage
- Eligibility for RCCIWA Business Awards
Prizes are not transferable or redeemable for cash unless specified.
10. Voter Incentives
Voters may be entered into a prize draw.
- One entry per valid vote submission
- Winners selected at random
- Prizes include local vouchers or equivalent
11. Promotion & Use of Information
By entering or accepting nomination, businesses agree to:
- Be promoted across Chamber marketing channels
- Have business name, logo, and images used in promotional materials
- Participate in media or promotional activities if selected
12. Conduct & Integrity
The Chamber reserves the right to:
- Disqualify any business engaging in misleading, unethical, or inappropriate conduct
- Remove votes obtained through manipulation or coercion
- Exclude any participant that brings the awards into disrepute
13. Privacy
- Personal information collected will be used solely for the purpose of administering the awards
- Participants may opt-in to receive future communications
- Information will not be shared with third parties without consent
14. Event Attendance
- Tickets are required to attend the Awards Night
- Finalists are encouraged to attend or send a representative
- The Chamber is not responsible for travel or accommodation costs
15. Changes & Cancellation
The Chamber reserves the right to:
- Modify categories, prizes, dates, or processes
- Cancel or postpone the awards if required due to unforeseen circumstances
16. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, the Chamber is not liable for:
- Technical issues affecting voting
- Loss, damage, or injury arising from participation
- Any third-party supplier issues
